We’re humbled, grateful and thankful for the kind words being spoken about us from those we’ve worked together with.

“The work ethic that inspires Jay and his team behind Modern Traveller is motivating!  Having hosted on Jay on several occasions, I watched as he constantly took notes and captured images about the places he visited, the people he met and the experiences he had.  His unique way of weaving together words and images to tell a compelling story clearly demonstrates the breadth and depth of his passion for roadtrips, destinations and unique tourism experiences. It’s not just about putting words to paper – it’s also showing appreciation and value for the investment made in hosting by going above and beyond the required deliverables.  And by providing us with important metrics that confirm the value of working with travel media in the truest meaning of its form - as an unbiased third party whose endorsements and engagements go a long way to helping make our operators’ cash registers ring.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working multiple times with Jay Kana of Modern Traveller. Jay leaves a great impression on destinations and their people everywhere he goes. He’s a travel writer who skillfully captures the stories of destinations and their people and, in the end, readers feel like they’re joining him on his adventures. This true professional takes the time to do research and preparation before media trips. He gets to know places and their people and he finds unique and interesting story angles. If you’re not reading Jay’s stories in Modern Traveller, you should be.”

“I had the pleasure of meeting Jay for the first time, at the 2023 TMAC (Travel Media Association of Canada) annual conference last June.  We met at the media marketplace and talked about how we could work together.  Jay shared some great ideas for a couple of stories for Modern Traveller, of which one them was published last December. He has also shared our news from last fall that spoke to our renovations.  .  Subsequently, we crossed paths at the Ontario Chapter TMAC holiday event, which was held at our hotel.  Jay is the Co-Chair for the Ontario Chapter, making him a key volunteer for this organization.  I look forward to working with Jay this year, since he had a couple of other great story ideas.  Modern Traveller is a valuable publication for us to be included, since many of our customers come from the GTA and the surrounding area.”

“I was fortunate enough to host Jay on a group press trip in 2017 and to work with him again in 2022. We’ve been in touch often over the past years and the stars aligned themselves to enable us to realize his project in June 2022 of a road trip in 3 of the 4 regions represented by Le Québec maritime.
It’s always a pleasure to work with Jay and I would recommend to other DMOs following my positive experience to work with him!”

“We had the pleasure of hosting Jay on a group press trip, representing Modern Traveller. He brought a positive energy to the group as well as professionalism and curiosity about our destination. He captured great content and executed articles in a timely manner.”

Jay Kana - Engaged, Interested and Impactful

While in Nova Scotia as part of a Tourism Nova Scotia’s media tour in February for the Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl, we hosted Modern Traveller Jay Kana as a part of their itinerary. A visit to the Desbrisay Museum in Bridgewater on a Sunday morning became a most memorable experience. Not only did he throw himself into the tour, and the lobster-themed experiences we’d planned, he went well beyond our expectations - immediately.

Sincerely interested and engaged, he was capturing footage, interviewing our team, and soaking up everything we shared with him.

Hoping we’d make an appearance in an upcoming article, he surprised us all when, within mere hours, he created and posted an interview featuring our site, and in forthcoming videos, posts and full articles wove us into the destination itineraries for the Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl that made us blush as red as a cooked lobster!

Professional, enthusiastic and passionate, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to host, and work with Jay Kana. He sets a bar that makes it difficult for other travel media professionals to beat.”
