As a professional travel writer, I’ve been fortunate to experience so much of Canada.
During a week-long adventure in British Columbia, I spent a terrific 24 hours in Penticton and if I had a teleporter, I’d be writing this article from there.
Penticton sits between the majestic Okanagan Lake to the north and Skaha Lake to the south, making it an excellent location for being on the water and enjoying the outdoors.
Penticton’s welcome sign succinctly says “Explore by foot, pedal or paddle.”
To maximize the Canadian band Trooper’s lyric “We’re here for a good time, not a long time,” I did as the sign asked and went kayaking in Okanagan Lake and went e-biking, both via rentals from HooDoo Adventures, went to the very cool Kin & Folk locally owned restaurant and wrapped up my day with a sunset walk on the shores of Okanagan Lake.
Is this a case of “West Coast, Best Coast?”
Definitely maybe.
The Okanagan Valley has so many excellent destinations and is truly one of my favourite places in Canada, with Penticton being a sweet spot that visitors should experience at least once.
In under three minutes, I’ll show you how to spend a delightful day in picturesque Penticton.
