What’s so good about the 2026 Honda Civic so good?
The driving dynamics are excellent, with more than enough power, brisk acceleration, excellent agility given it’s small footprint and with that, it’s very easy to drive and even easier to park.
Plus, being able to go nearly 1,000 km per full tank of fuel showcases the benefit of Honda’s hybrid system.
Standard safety is solid via the Honda Sensing Safety technology and includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist and traffic-jam assist.
Opt for the top-trim and enjoy the sounds of a top-notch 12-speaker Bose audio system, heated outboard rear seats, a nine-inch infotainment system (up from the seven-inch standard size) and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster (up from the standard seven-inch size,) and more.
The cabin blends traditional elements, including a gear lever, physical climate controls and other switches, with modern technologies, including the responsive touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the aforementioned suite of active safety systems.
Rear seat space is generous and while it’s no shot against the Civic, it seats two with much more comfort than having someone occupy the middle seat.
Cargo space here can squeeze four carry-on bags, five in a pinch if you’ve got a full carload of people.
There’s a reason the Civic has been so wildly popular with Canadians over nearly three decades; it’s well built, practical and the Honda brand comes with reliability.
If you’re looking at compact sedans for your next road trip outside of the Honda Civic, there’s the Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, Kia K4, Nissan Sentra and Volkswagen Jetta.
